NWS (HGX) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a portion of southeast Texas that includes Harris County and all counties bordering Harris. The Outlook is based on today’s elevated fire danger. The downgrade from a Red Flag Warning to a Hazardous Weather Outlook is based on lower wind speeds but hazardous conditions do still exist due to low humidity.

This evening at 20:18 Harris County Haz Mat units were involved in a regional response to a building collapse at 18511 Old Beaumont Highway. The facility (Paper Mill) was undergoing the demolition of several structures and one of those collapsed with one fatality confirmed.
