August 7, 2014 Media Contact: Dinah Massie Houston TranStar 713-881-3244 Washburn Tunnel to Close Tonight at 9 PM for Routine Maintenance Tunnel Will Reopen at 4 AM Friday Houston TranStar is advising the traveling public that the Washburn Tunnel will close Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 9 PM for scheduled maintenance. The tunnel normally closes each Thursday from Midnight - 4 AM for the work; however, this week it will be closed earlier for a more extensive cleaning. The tunnel will reopen as usual at 4 AM Friday, August 8. Motorists should find an alternate route or change their travel times through the tunnel during the closure. -30- |
