Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, October 17, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between PARK TEN and east of SH-6 as well as the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound exit ramp to ELDRIDGE will be closed Saturday, October 18 from 7 AM to 3 PM. Detour to the Dairy Ashford exit and U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Eldridge.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound and southbound direct connector ramps to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound continuously beginning 9 PM, Friday, October 17 until 5 AM, Monday, October 20. Traffic will detour via the I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp and exit Gessner and U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road. Traffic destined southbound will turn left on the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 southbound mainlanes from Memorial. Traffic destined northbound will turn right on the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 northbound mainlanes from Westview.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramps to BELTWAY 8 south- and northbound nightly Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Traffic destined southbound will detour via the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right on the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 southbound mainlanes from Memorial. Traffic destined northbound will detour via the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 eastbound frontage road turn left on the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 northbound mainlanes from Westview.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from KIRKWOOD will be closed nightly Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour to the next entrance ramp.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. Two inside lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between I-610/WEST LOOP and BUNKER HILL will be closed nightly Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 from 9 PM to 10 AM.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound on Saturday, October 18 from 6 AM to NOON. Detour to the I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound, exit at Washington Ave./Westcott St. and U-turn at the signalized intersection to access the I-10 westbound mainlanes.
. One outside lane of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound will be closed on Saturday, October 18 from 6 AM to NOON.
. Two inside lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between I-610/WEST LOOP and BUNKER HILL will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Sunday, October 19 through 5 AM, Monday, October 20.
