I-10 EASTBOUND BETWEEN I-610 AND WASHINGTON CLOSED THIS WEEKEND
“Contractor Prepares to Switch Traffic to Final Configuration”
(Houston) – This weekend, June 27-29, Balfour Beatty Construction will perform a major traffic switch on the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes placing I-10 traffic east of I-610/West Loop in its final configuration. This weekend’s traffic switch will provide an additional lane of capacity for drivers inside the I-610/West Loop and will require the following closures:
• Total closure of I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound from I-610/West Loop to Washington Avenue beginning tonight, Friday, June 27, at 9 PM until 6 PM, Sunday, June 29. I-10 eastbound will be detoured via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to continue to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East. Alternately, I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound traffic may detour via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connect ramp to I-610/West Loop southbound to US 59/Southwest Freeway, and travel north to access I-10/East. Other associated closures are listed below:
• Total closure of the I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 27 until 6 PM, Sunday, June 29. Continue northbound to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East.
• Total closure of the I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 27 until 6 PM, Sunday, June 29. Detour to exit at Old Katy Road; make a left on Old Katy Road to Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
• Total closure of the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound entrance ramp from Silber beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 27 until 6 PM, Sunday, June 29. Detour via the I-10 eastbound frontage road and turn left on North Post Oak, right on Old Katy Road and right on Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
• Total closure of the Woodway entrance ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 27 until 6 PM, Sunday, June 29. Continue northbound on the I-610/West Loop frontage road and make a right on Memorial, turn left on Westcott to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
Due to the concurrently scheduled closures, mobility in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 Interchange may be limited this weekend and motorists are encouraged to review the Katy Freeway closures notices to best plan travel along I-10.
