TOTAL CLOSURE REMINDER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE....

TOTAL CLOSURE OF I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND BETWEEN WILCREST AND GESSNER

(HOUSTON) This weekend, starting 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 to 5 AM, Monday, August 6 Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor, Williams Brothers Construction will totally close the mainlanes of I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound from Wilcrest to Gessner. Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound frontage road. This closure is related to the continued construction activities associated with the reconstruction of the I-10/Beltway 8 Interchange.

Other closures this weekend include:

• Alternating lanes closed on the I-10 eastbound mainlanes between SH-6 and Eldridge beginning 8 PM, Friday, August 3 until 10 AM, Saturday, August 4. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes to switch traffic to new pavement.

• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to Eldridge will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.

• I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Park Row closed until further notice beginning 8 PM, Friday August 3.

• TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound Blalock/Echo Lane north of the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound frontage road from 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until 6 PM, Sunday, August 5.

• Alternating lanes closed on the I-10 eastbound frontage road between SH-6 and Eldridge beginning 10 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.

• TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound Antoine at I-10/Katy Freeway on Saturday, August 4 from 7 AM to 9 PM.

• TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH 6 at I-10/Katy Freeway overnight beginning 10 PM, Saturday August 4 until 6 AM, Sunday, August 5.
