Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, July 27, 2007.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at KIRKWOOD will be closed from 9 AM to 3 PM, Saturday, July 28.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between WILCREST and GESSNER beginning 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Traffic will detour at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 eastbound mainlanes just west of Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to southbound BELTWAY 8-WEST from 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Southbound traffic should take the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge from 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Traffic will detour east on Queensbury to Town and Country, north on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Southbound traffic will detour to the Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road flyover bridge.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between BELTWAY 8 and I-610/WEST LOOP will be closed daily from 6 AM to 8 PM, Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29.
. The two inside lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between CAMPBELL and CHIMNEY ROCK will be closed overnight from 9 PM to 5 AM, Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between I-610/WEST LOOP and WASHINGTON AVE beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 27 until 8 AM, Saturday, July 28. Eastbound traffic will exit Silber/North Post Oak Road, turn left on North Post Oak, and right on Old Katy Road to re-enter I-10 eastbound via the entrance ramp from Washington.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound and southbound direct connectors to eastbound I-10 beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 27 until 8 AM, Saturday, July 28. Northbound traffic will detour I-10 westbound and exit Silber/Antoine, u-turn at Antoine to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn left on N. Post Oak and right on Old Katy Road to enter I-10 eastbound via the entrance ramp from Washington. Southbound traffic will take the Old Katy Road exit, turn left on Old Katy Road, and enter I-10 eastbound via the entrance ramp from Washington.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between WASHINGTON AVE and I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 9 PM, Saturday, July 28 until 8 AM, Sunday, July 29. Westbound traffic will exit at Washington, turn right on Old Katy Road to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Antoine.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connectors to I-610 northbound and southbound beginning 9 PM, Saturday, July 28 until 8 AM, Sunday, July 29. Northbound traffic will take the Washington exit, turn right on Old Katy Road to the I-610 northbound frontage road, and enter the I-610 mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Old Katy Road. Southbound traffic will exit Washington, turn right on Old Katy Road, left on N. Post Oak to the I-610 southbound frontage road and enter the I-610 southbound mainlanes from Woodway.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend’s Work...
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be alternating lane closures of northbound and southbound SH-6 between the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road and MEMORIAL Tuesday, July 31 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. SH-6 northbound and southbound traffic between GRISBY and BARKERS POINT will be reduced to one lane nightly from 8 PM to 5 AM, Wednesday, August 1 to Friday, August 3.
. Two lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between SH-6 and ELDRIDGE will be closed beginning 8 PM, Friday, August 3 until 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 as contractors transition the existing I-10 eastbound mainlane traffic onto new pavement.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from PARK TEN will be closed effective 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until further notice. Motorists will now access I-10 eastbound via the entrance ramp from SH-6.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to ELDRIDGE will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.
. There will be alternating lanes closed on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between SH-6 and ELDRIDGE beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Sunday, August 5.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight beginning 10 PM, Saturday August 4 until 6 AM, Sunday, August 5. Northbound traffic will detour east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Eldridge, u-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to access SH-6, southbound traffic will detour west on the I-10 westbound frontage road to Park Ten, u-turn to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access SH-6.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. The right lane of southbound ANTOINE under the I-10/KATY FREEWAY overpass will be closed beginning 9 AM, Monday, July 30 until 3 PM, Thursday, August 2.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BLALOCK/ECHO LANE north of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from 9 PM, August 3 until 6 PM, Sunday, August 5. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Campbell, go through the intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock; southbound traffic will detour to Westview westbound, to Bunker Hill southbound, to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Echo Lane.
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between CAMPBELL and ADKIN will be closed beginning 9 AM, Friday, August 3 until 5 PM, Saturday, August 4.
