Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, July 20, 2007.

CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. The left turn lane of southbound BLALOCK just north of Old Katy Road will be closed from 7 AM, Saturday, July 21 until 5 PM, Wednesday, July 25.

. One lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between CAMPBELL and BINGLE will be closed beginning Thursday, July 26 until further notice.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend’s Work...
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between WILCREST and GESSNER beginning 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Traffic will detour at the Beltway 8 Frontage Road exit to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 eastbound mainlanes just west of Gessner.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge from 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Traffic will detour east on Queensbury to Town and Country, north on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 5 AM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Monday, July 30. Southbound traffic will detour to the Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road flyover bridge.

CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BLALOCK/ECHO LANE at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from 9 PM, Friday, July 27 until 6 PM, Sunday, July 29. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Campbell, go through the intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock; southbound traffic will detour west on Westview, south on Bunker Hill, east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Echo.

CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes between I-610/WEST LOOP and WASHINGTON AVE beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 27 until 5 AM, Saturday, July 28. Eastbound traffic will exit Silber/North Post Oak, turn left on North Post Oak, left on Old Katy Road and re-enter I-10 eastbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Washington.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes between WASHINGTON AVE and I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 9 PM, Saturday, July 28 until 5 AM, Sunday, July 29. Westbound traffic will detour to I-45 northbound to I-610 westbound to access I-10/West. Traffic destined north via I-610 will exit Washington Avenue to Old Katy Road to the I-610 northbound entrance ramp. Traffic destined south via I-610 will exit Washington Avenue to Old Katy Road, turn right on N. Post Oak to access I-610 southbound.

Please note that all closures are subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
