Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

Friday, Jul 6th, 2007

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, July 6, 2007.

CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from KIRKWOOD and exit ramp to DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed for 30 days beginning Sunday, July 8 at 9 PM. Traffic destined for Dairy Ashford will need to exit at Kirkwood to the I-10 westbound frontage road or exit at Eldridge and u-turn; traffic destined to access I-10 from Kirkwood will now access the westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp west of Dairy Ashford.

CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. The two inside lanes of I-10 KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT and SILBER will be closed Saturday, July 7 from 6 AM to 6 PM.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SILBER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, July 7 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to N. Post Oak northbound, to the I-10 westbound frontage road, to Silber; southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, go through the signalized intersection at Antoine to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Silber.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BLALOCK/ECHO LANE north of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from 9 PM, Friday, July 6 until 6 PM, Sunday, July 8. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Campbell, go through the intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock; southbound traffic will detour to Westview westbound, to Bunker Hill southbound, to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Echo.

CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES

. One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes from I-610/WEST LOOP to WASHINGTON AVE will be closed nightly Monday, July 9 to Thursday, July 12 from 9 PM to 5 AM.

. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from WASHINGTON AVE will be closed nightly Monday, July 9 to Thursday, July 12 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour east to T.C. Jester and u-turn to enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from T.C. Jester.

CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. The I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound and westbound mainlanes between Wilcrest and Gessner will be closed continuously beginning 5 AM, Saturday, July 14 until 5 AM, Monday, July 16. Traffic will be detoured to the I-10 eastbound and westbound frontage roads.

. The Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road between Westview and I-10/Katy Freeway and the Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed continuously beginning 5 AM, Saturday, July 14 until 5 AM, Monday, July 16.

. The Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road between Queensbury and I-10/Katy Freeway and the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed continuously beginning 5 AM, Saturday, July 14 until 5 AM, Monday, July 16.
